Nathan Schmidt, assistant professor of microbiology, recently received a prestigious and highly competitive Research Scholar Award from the American Cancer Society for his work on understanding immunity to malaria. The Research Scholar Grant of $792,000 from the American Cancer Society will support his project “Plasmodium-induced T Cell Suppression.”
