
Monica Black is assistant professor of modern German and European history.
At the 2011 meeting of the American Historical Association, Black was awarded the Hans Rosenberg Book Prize for Death in Berlin: From Weimar to Divided Germany, as the best book in Central European History for 2010. This is the second prize that her book has won. Published by Cambridge University Press in 2010, it also received the 2010 Fraenkel Prize for Contemporary History from the Wiener Library for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide in London.
She is currently working on her second book, a cultural history of the supernatural in post-1945 Germany.
