
Mark DeKay is an associate professor in the School of Architecture. He joined the university after his Fulbright award to India in 2001.
DeKay recently published (2011) a new peer-reviewed book, Integral Sustainable Design, Transformative Perspectives with the award-winning Earthscan Press. DeKay’s book offers practical and theoretical tools for more effective sustainable design solutions and for communicating sustainable design ideas to today’s diverse stakeholders.
A specialist in sustainable design technology, theory, and practice, DeKay co-edits the online continuing education UT Certificate in Sustainable Design and Green Building. His other works include Sun, Wind, and Light: Architectural Design Strategies, a classic in the field (Wiley, 2001; co-authored with G. Z. Brown).
