Hoan Bui is a criminologist and associate professor in the Department of Sociology. Her research focuses on the intersection of race, immigration, gender and crime. Her recent work includes the examination of crime in Vietnam, and re-entry experiences of women criminal offenders. She is currently working on a book project that will examine the re-entry needs among men and women and social resources available to address their re-entry needs. The goal is to improve understandings of the effect of gender on the re-entry process and how that affects reintegration outcomes.
