
Bruce Behn is the Ergen Professor of Business and CBER Faculty Fellow. He currently serves as Chairman of the Pathways Commission, a national organization that is studying the future structure and content of accounting education. This group will study and recommend improvements in accounting education and is charged with developing strategies and structures to ensure an adequate supply of the best diverse talent to sustain the accounting profession over the long term.
Behn has published articles in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance and a number of other journals and has served as the co-editor for the Journal of International Accounting Research and the associate editor of Issues in Accounting Education. He is also widely recognized as one of the finest classroom teachers in the College of Business and has received the American Accounting Association’s Innovation in Accounting Education award, UT’s Alumni Outstanding Teaching award, and the Tennessee Society of CPAs Outstanding Educator of the Year.
