
Andy Puckett, assistant professor of finance, received the 2011 William L. Vallett Jr. Outstanding Researcher Award at the College of Business Administration’s annual Honors Banquet. He is the first assistant professor to receive this award, which has traditionally gone to a senior faculty member in the college. He came to UT from the University of Missouri in 2009, and since arriving at UT has had four research papers published in top finance journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Finance. He received the Best Paper Award for “Market Crashes and Institutional Trading” (with Amber Anand, Paul Irvine, and Kumar Venkataraman) at the Financial Management Association annual meeting in 2010. His primary research interests are in the areas of institutional investing, analysis, and market microstructure. Puckett’s research has been presented at leading academic and professional conferences both nationally and internationally.
