Synopsis: The original title of this book is El culto a San Millán en Valderredible, Cantabria: Las iglesias rupestres y la formación del Camino de Santiago. The book takes into consideration architectural and textual evidence that establishes that the cult of St. Millán (474-574) began during the seventh century after his followers transformed a group of caves in Valderredible into cave (or rock-cut) churches whose design follows the Visigothic style. This book was nominated in 2008 for the La corónica Book Award, an annual international prize for the best monograph published on medieval Iberian language, literature and cultural studies.
