Gordon Burghardt, professor with appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, recently had his research featured on the PBS show NOVA. The episode focused on the entire group of monitor lizards, which includes the largest lizard in the world, the Komodo Dragon.

Carol Tenopir, professor in the School of Information Sciences, has received the 2009 American Society for Information Science and Technology Award of Merit for her noteworthy contributions to the field of information science.

Z. John Ma, associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was selected as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Tennessee Section Outstanding Engineering Educator for 2009.

Bamin Khomami, professor and head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, was elected to Fellowship in the American Physical Society.

Beauvais Lyons, professor in the School of Art is presenting “The Association for Creative Zoology” an exhibition of prints and taxidermy at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from October 8 to November 20, 2009.
