Beauvais Lyons, professor of art, will receive the George T. Ikeda Award for one of his prints that has been selected for the 20th Los Angeles Printmaking Society’s National Exhibition. Los Angeles critic Peter Frank juried the exhibition.

Joshua Fu, associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been appointed as an international adviser by the Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center. He is assisting the agency to establish an air quality forecasting system to provide hourly and daily status updates during the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China.

Chris Cherry, assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, recently participated in the Asian Development Bank SUMA (Sustainable Urban Mobility in Asia) Summit in New Delhi, India. He presented the results of two studies, “Electric Bikes in the People’s Republic of China: Impact on the Environment and Prospects for Growth” and “Electric Two-Wheelers in India and Viet Nam: Market Analysis and Environmental Impacts.”
