Jana Morgan is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science, specializing in comparative politics.
Her most notable recent accomplishment is the publication of her book Bankrupt Representation and Party System Collapse, which offers the most comprehensive account to date of the collapse of the Venezuelan party system. The book is published by Penn State University Press, one of the very best outlets for work in Latin American politics. In addition to this book, she has published numerous articles in top political science journals and is recognized as one of the best scholars of political parties in her cohort. She is a consultant for the Latin American Public Opinion Project, which gathers mass survey data from numerous countries and thousands of individual respondents and is funded in part by U. S. Agency for International Development. She also conducts work on public opinion and gender in politics.
