The Streaming Guide to Cataloging Remote Access Multimedia: A How-to Virtual Manual for Catalogers
Author: Marielle Veve

Publication Date: February 2011
Publisher: Newfound Press
Synopsis: The main purpose of the guide is to provide visual guidance in the procedures of cataloging remote access multimedia with the assistance of instructional multimedia techniques (such as animated slides, screen captures, video, audio, and captions). Remote access multimedia can be defined as content that integrates different media formats and has no physical carrier. It can only be accessed online through a network connection. The guide was created given the rising need among catalogers, information science students, and school library media specialists to understand the complexities of multimedia cataloging without having to rely on text-only explanations, which can sometimes be difficult to understand.
