David Reidy
David Reidy, associate professor in the Department of Philosophy, won the 2009 Berger Prize for his paper, “The Structural Variety of Historical Injustices,” which appeared in the Journal of Social Philosophy. The Berger Prize, given by the American Philosophical Association Committee on the Philosophy of Law, is awarded to the author of the best article in the philosophy of law published during the past two years. Reidy, who also won the prize in 2005, is the only person to have won it more than once. Reidy’s co-author, Jeppe von Platz, was formerly a graduate student in philosophy at UT Knoxville and is now working on his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania.
