At the 12th meeting of the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG) meeting in Goa, India, Feng Chen, Eric Drumm and Georges Guiochon received an award for their paper “Prediction/Verification of Particle Motion in One Dimension with the Discrete-Element Method.” The paper was published in the International Journal of Geomechanics. Chen is a PhD candidate and graduate research assistant in civil and environmental engineering, Drumm is a professor and head of biosystems engineering and soil science and Guiochon is a distinguished professor of chemistry.
